NATIONAL FAMILY SUPPORT NETWORKSUPPORTING FAMILY MEMBERS LIVING WITH SUBSTANCE MISUSE

Great sadness at the loss of the ‘Mammy of the Network.’

It is with great sadness that the National Family Support Network (NFSN) learned yesterday about the death of Betty Ward, one of the co-founders of the NFSN.

Betty is remembered for her tireless work with the Rialto Quilt Group in Dublin and also the enormous contribution she made in helping to establish the National Family Support Network. Betty has been described as the ‘Mammy of the Network’ and is fondly remembered for her great wit, brilliant sense of humour and extremely strong spirit.

Sadie Grace of the National Family Support Network commented; ‘Over the years Betty has always been a great source of inspiration for all of us at the Network and we are truly saddened to hear of her passing. The staff and the board members of the NFSN would like to offer their deepest sympathy to all of Betty’s family and friends. May she rest in peace.’

Details of Betty’s funeral can be found here.

Please note: as a mark of respect the offices of the National Family Support Network will be closed tomorrow (02/04/2015).
